John S. - Condo Remodel

I contacted MSDesign desperstely needing help with a 50 year old condo that needed to be rehabilitated and renovated entirely.  I had zero experience or knowledge about how to get it done, and frankly zero concept of what I wanted it to look like. My goal was to take a family property from uninhabitable, to a rentable condition.

Throughout the entire process, I only interacted with 2 people. Mike, and Allison.  I told them that I had no style preference, and didnt want to pick anything out. Within a week or so I was presented with an in depth cost projection which included colors, finished, appliances, sinks, mirrors, fans and lights. Every aspect of the build was crafted to flow as a cohesive design and I didnt need anything changed.

Once approved, they got right to work. I was provided with progress photos and explanations for anything I didnt understand.  

I am out of state, so being able to trust the company to do the right thing when they know nobody is watching was a valuable relief. They treated the property as it were their own for the entire duration. 

Occasionally,  things would come up. An upstairs neighbor had a plumbing emergency that ultimately resulted in water damage to my unit.  Mike notified me, investigated the issue himself, hired a water damage rehab company, and acted as my advocate to have it all paid for by the upstairs property owner. I never paid a dollar for what would have been a massive problem.

Any little issue that would arrive stemming from something within their control (cabinets arrive damaged, doors wrong size,  vanity "doesn't line up perfectly", etc) were corrected on their end, without any mention or suggestion that they wanted reimbursement.  

I received periodic invoices that were itemized to prove where each dollar went. I was kept informed on the budget as the job progressed. At the end,  Mike and Allison were able to complete the project UNDER budget. 

Once completed, Mike met with my new property manager to give them the walk through, and answer any questions they had. I never set foot on the property and yet it went from nearly uninhabitable to cash flowing rental property.

I havent even mentioned the quality of the work being done( perfection ) but thats because the expectation we all have is that things are done correctly. MSdesign met the mark easily, but the anxiety for me was never surrounding the quality of the work. My anxiety was based around trust. I didnt want to be taken advantage of. I didnt want to be approached daily with budget overruns, or project halting errors. I wanted to "set it and forget it" and thats exactly what I got. 0 effort on my part, perfect outcome, no stress. 

If you are like me, MSdesign is for you. Any future projects i have will go to them, I wish I had another property for them to work on because thats how simple they made it.
